I'm a creative leader and designer.
I've spent my career making things, leading people, and finding my way through complicated problems.
Design has been the constant, but the work around it has taken some interesting turns. I've led international expeditions, taught design, built and ran a leather goods company, managed complex programs, and led creative teams. Each experience added another layer to how I think, work, and lead.
I spent six years directing international expeditions and fifteen summers leading them in the field. That meant planning month-long programs across countries and knowing that, eventually, the plan would change. Weather, illness, delays, unexpected problems. You learn to adapt, make decisions with imperfect information, and stay calm when everyone else is looking to you for a cue.
I've carried that lesson into creative leadership. I care about building teams that trust each other, do excellent work, and remain human while doing it. I like working with talented, low-ego people who bring ideas to the table, challenge each other, and know how to laugh when things inevitably go sideways.
I'm still a maker at heart. I love design, photography, building things with my hands, and exploring whatever catches my curiosity. I'm fascinated by the way people interact with the world around them, from a piece of typography to a website to a building, and I'm always looking for better ways to make, work, and think.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me traveling, riding bikes, skiing, making something, or somewhere quiet enough to let my brain catch up.
